Kids can get easily bored at school. Although it’s required, to some degree, it doesn’t hurt them to miss a day here and there. So, if you sense your child getting restless, why not give them a fun surprise and let them stay home from school one day to go to the aquarium with you?
There are a lot of great things to see at the aquarium. There are fish from all over the world. There are sea turtles, octopus and sting rays, too. In fact, many aquariums actually have tidal pools where kids can enjoy touching certain types of sea life.
Many aquariums even have large mammals, like seals and sea lions. In fact, my local aquarium even has penguins. Even as an adult, I love watching them play in the water. So, your kids will love checking out such exhibits at your local aquarium.
Of course, a trip to the aquarium isn’t all fun and games. You could ask your child to write an essay for you about their favorite aquarium exhibits after the trip, just to make sure they were paying attention. In fact, you could talk to your child’s science teacher ahead of time and see if they could get extra credit for doing such a report.
So, if you feel like your child is bored at school or like you don’t get enough time to spend together, try a surprise aquarium trip. That way, you can have a great time with your child and they can learn a thing or two at the same time.
